What is the difference between floor hockey and field hockey?

I play floor hockey in a gym recreationally. What is the difference between floor and field hockey?|||floor hockey uses sticks that are verymuch like ice hockey sticks. Field hockey is a sport with a curved stick, and is played more aggressively then floor hockey. Also, in floor hockey I'm pretty sure you wear more pads, am i right? In fieldhockey you wear goggles and shin guards. Field hockey is played indoor and outdoor, and ages 8 and up have to have goalies. Hope this answers your quetion!!!|||Field hockey you are able to lift the ball, you can do ariels, dummys, chips etc.

also feild hockey is often played on astro.

|||floor hockey is played obviously on a floor, and with totally different sticks than field hockey...they are longer, and the toe or head is much longer and you can use either side of it. in field hockey, the toe is short and one side is round, and the stick is shorter. i'm pretty sure floor hockey is played with less than 11 players.|||Floor hockey is essentially ice hockey on a gym floor, with a soft non-bouncing ball and you're in shoes.

I don't know much about field hockey except my mom played it back in the 50s .. should I use some of my rollover minutes to phone her and get some insight ??|||It is what it says - floor or field.

Field hockey is a lot faster, and certainly more skillful than floor/ice. They most certainly do have goalies in field hockey!!|||well floor hockey is sorta like ice hockey while field hockey u use differant types of sticks which i think looks weird and instead of a puck u use a ball and goalies are not mandatory|||You play on a floor, you play on a field.
